Dear ERAHC Members and Competitors,
Our shows are less than a month away, and all of the details are largely falling in to place. We do have some important information, updates, and messages that we would like to share with you.
*IMPORTANT "P" Division & PSL INFORMATION IS AT THE END OF THIS NOTE*
*Dressage Closing Date Extended*
We have extended the closing date for our Open Dressage Show to Thursday, August 3. Prize lists for this show were sent out earlier this year, and are available on the ERAHC.org website at http://www.erahc.org
*Post Entry Fees*
Entries that are received after the closing date will be assesed a post-entry penalty. If you are submitting a late entry to BOTH the dressage show and the breed show, we will waive one of your post-entry fees.
Remember, both shows will close entries on August 3, and any entry received after that day will be considered a post entry. Also, to be listed in the show program, an entry must be received by the closing date.
*Sponsorships*
Thanks to all of our sponsors who have already stepped forward to express their support for our show. Without sponsor support, our show would be very, very different. Our sponsors make it possible to continue offering a quality, recognized show in a top-notch facility with a professional staff. Our projected budget calls for $7000+ for our show to break even. We've made tremendous progress towards that goal, but still have more to go. If you can sponsor a class, or would like to participate in one of our sponsor packages that include advertising benefits and Championship sponsorship, please contact our Sponsor Coordinator, Jenni Coyle, at jenni@jcandalusians.com
*Volunteers*
If sponsors are the yin of the show, volunteers are the yang. We can't have a successful show without both. Our volunteers play a crucial role in our show, often in thankless and unseen work. Nonetheless, their efforts are what makes our show run smoothly. If you have a few hours to spare in your show schedule, please set up and volunteer your time. Again in 2006, we will be thanking our volunteers with "ERAHC Bucks." For every four hours of time volunteered, you will receive $10 ERAHC Bucks that can be used for membership dues, entry fees, advertising, or any other purchase with the club. To volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Wendy Quiggle, at vp@erahc.org
*Show Program Advertising*
All ads must received, with payment, by August 10. Advertising information may be found in the Prize List, and on our website. If you have show program questions, please Ben and show-director@erahc.org
*Silent Auction*
Linda Denniston is heading up our Silent Auction effort this year. If you have an item you would like to donate, please contact Linda at president@erahc.org
*Show FAQ and Website*
Be sure to visit http://www.erahc.org for the latest show information. We've started a Show FAQ with questions from competitors, and other information of interest.
*"P" Division classes and PSL Revision*
As of right now, a PSL judge has not been assigned to our show by APSL in Lisbon, Portugal. We placed our initial request for a judge in January. Requests for judges are coordinated through IALHA, which is the representative of APSL in the United States. We are still working to secure a judge for our show, and are hoping to have more information for you next week.
In the meantime, several of you have asked how you should proceed with entries considering that the closing date is Thursday, August 3.
We have two options for you going forward:
1) Send in your entries now to avoid any late fees. If we do NOT have an APSL approved judge, and you have entered "P" division classes, we will refund your fees. Due to a light dressage load, we have also extended the closing date for the dressage show to August 3. This is your best option.
2) Send in your entries AFTER we have confirmed our APSL approved judge. Once we have confirmed our APSL judge, we will assign a new closing date for the "P" division. Entries after that new closing date will be subject to a late fee.
NOTE - entries to the Dressage show AFTER August 3 will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are entering BOTH the Dressage show and the Breed show (for the new "P" division closing date) after the closing date, we will waive the post-entry fee for the dressage show, but you may be wait-listed for a ride.
*Have Fun - It's OUR Show*
We want our show to be an enjoyable, positive experience for everybody. We come to compete to be the best, but find our joy with our friends and in showing the best that we can. ERAHC wants our show to be more than just a competition, but a special event that we are all part of. Let us know how we can help.
Best wishes to all,
Ben
