(1) Reining Classes - what pattern will be used, how will it be judged?

(2) Does my foal need a currrent EIA (Coggins) Test?
(A) Virginia & Massachusetts law requires that all horses gathered for a show or sale MUST have a negative EIA (Coggins) test within the past 12 months. The show has contacted the Virginia State Veterinarian, who has provided the following guidance to interperate the law for foals. Any foal over 6 months of age MUST have a current negative EIA. Any foal that has been weaned, regardless of age, MUST have a current negative EIA. A foal, less than 6 months old and currently nursing, may be considered to be on the dams current negative EIA test.

(5) Where can I find the show rules?
(A) Our shows are licensed by the United States Equestrian Federation, and are fully goverened by their rules. You can access the online USEF Rule Book to view the latest version of the rules. You will want to pay special attention to Chapter DR (Dressage) and Chapter AL (Andalusian/Lusitano).
In additional, the Prize List contains additional local rules and details for classes not specified in the USEF Rule Book.

(6) I'm confused about Half-Andalusian Championships & IALHA Qualifying.
(A) The only classes that are qualifyers of IALHA Region & National competition are those designated by the IALHA Show Committee. In recent years, IALHA has combined the Half-Andalusian Jr. and Sr. Geldings into a single all-ages class, and the same for the Half-Andalusian Stallions. Our members and competitors requested that we split them back into the two age groups. But, the IALHA qualifying class is the all-ages class. To offer both age groups, and the IALHA qualifying class, we offer the Half-Andalusian Gelding Championship and Half-Andalusian Stallion Championship as the qualifying class.
The top three entries in each age group will return for the championship class. The championship class will place a Champion, Res. Champion, and Reserve - all of whom will then be qualified for IALHA Regional and National competition. All other qualifying classes are marked in the Prize List with an asterisk (*).

(7) Can my Lusitano show in Andalusian classes?
(A) Yes, if they are registered with IALHA. The class nomenclature for our shows follows the IALHA practice of using "Andalusian" to collectively refer to both purebred Andalusians and purebred Lusitanos. Any class in the prize list that is listed as "Andalusian" or "Andalusian/Half-Andalusian" is open to Lusitanos.

(8) Can I cross enter Dressage Hack and the Opportunity Class Dressage Suitability?
(A) Yes. See the Show Update page for more details. The Opportunity Class Dressage Suitability will have no cross-entry restrictions or age limitations. However, the regular Dressage Suitability division (non-opportunity class) will be run in accordance with the rules and be subject to the age of horse limit and restriction on cross entry with the Dressage Hack division.
